split rock We had always heard that one of the best things to do in Duluth, Minnesota is to leave town and head north along the Lake Superior North Shore. Sure enough, our day driving along Highway 61 became one of our very favorite family memories. We were traveling with kids (six years and two) on a vacation in Minnesota. We needed stops that were captivating and that provided room to move. Split Rock Lighthouse State Park did not quite fit the bill. Although a gorgeous, fascinating place, it would have been better suited for second-graders and up.   Read more…
